Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force

Drug Endangered Children

Meth Ruins Lives

Since 2003, the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force has been collectively investigating drug endangered children complaints with the Division of Child and Family Services. The investigation entails a Strike Force Agent and a Child Protective Case Worker contacting suspects on reports of drug use within the home with the children present. After the suspects and children are interviewed, a test is performed on the children to ascertain if the children have been exposed to illegal drug use. The test is conducted by medical personnel on site at the Children's Justice Center where a well-child examination is also performed. The exam concludes if the children are developmentally and physically on target, etc.

Charges, if applicable are filed on the suspects. A third degree felony child endangerment is usually the charge that is filed. The Utah Code is 76-5-112.5.
